A touching culinary autobiography by an expert home cook whose table has offered succor and warmth to friends around the world for over 30 years. From tough times in communist Poland, to exile in Paris and New York, Hanka Sawka cooked, to bring people together and to create a sense of well-being as only a good meal can do.

The book is fully illustrated by Hanka’s husband, noted artist Jan Sawka. Over 100 recipes feature Polish specialties, including those for Christmas and Easter, and other internationally inspired recipes for appetizers, soups, main and side dishes, and desserts.
