Baby It’s Cold Outside…Let’s Make Soup!

This has officially gotten ridiculous.  I love winter as much as the next person.  I like snowmen, snow angels, ice skating, and having a perpetual excuse to drink hot chocolate.  I like flushed cheeks and crackling logs in fireplaces and soft scarves. 

What I don’t like is being afraid to go outside because I might get hypothermia or be knocked down sideways by the wind.  I assume New York can't be the only place plagued with grey skies and sub-zero (well, it feels like it) temperatures.  I know I have weak Southern blood, but I stick to my original statement—this is officially ridiculous.

Thankfully there’s something we can do about it. 

If we can’t make the outside warmer, we can at least warm up our insides with…soup!  Thanks to Catherine Walther’s newest book, Soups and Sides, we can keep warm all winter long with hearty, healthy, and satisfying soups.  And what good is soup without a delicious side to dip/dunk alongside?
